(I can see) miles from here

She packed her bags in the morning light
While I was still asleep
A note pinned to the bathroom door
There´d be much more she does need
Not just love and understanding
And a warm embrace

A taxi sounding down the street
Waitin´ at the traffic lights
Her long blond hair on the backseat
Last picture for the coming sleepless nights

She wrote she can´t see tomorrow right now
Can´t see it comin´ so it´s sure time to go
She wrote her plans are much diff´rent than mine
Can´t see the future that´s why she draws the line
She doesn´t see hand-front-her-face my dear
While I can see miles from here

I scratched that old record today
While I thought about love
I played our song again, that lousy tune
And it just made me laugh
Someone sung of love and understanding
And a warm embrace

Burnt that note she left for me
And I remembered what I´ve learnt
For ev´ry love letter ever written
There´s another one that is burnt

She wrote she can´t ...

While I can see miles from here
Miles from here
